Bob Dyer

Bob Dyer, age 72, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, March 18, 2013 at Smithville-Western Care Center, Wooster following a period of declining health where he was surrounded by his family. A memorial service of celebration will take place Wednesday, 1:00 p.m. at Highland Church of God, 669 W. Highland Ave., Wooster with Pastor Wendell Sinclair officiating. A time of visitation will take place for family and friends following services at the church. A private interment will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family. He was born on March 18, 1941 in Albany, Kentucky to Claudia Omer and Ina Mae (Rigney) Dyer and has been a Wooster resident since 1967 after moving from Wisconsin. He married Margie Kay Cain in New Castle, Indiana in 1964. She survives. He previously worked as a Telephone Lineman for the Sprint Telephone Co., in Wooster for 30 years before retiring in 2002. He previously was a faithful member of the former Nold Ave. Baptist Church in Wooster; was an avid follower/fan of the Kentucky Wild Cats basketball team and mostly enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Robbie E. (Kathi) Dyer of Hot Springs, South Dakota, Willie "Ray" R. Dyer of Wooster, Teresa Lynn (Jack) Davenport of Rock Hill, South Carolina and Christina K. (Jerome) Anderson of Orrville; 10 grandchildren, Ayren (Tyler) Dykstra, Drew, Aubrey, Arlo and Rylee Dyer, Kayla (Jason) Deweese, Tyler Davenport, Adriannah, Ethan and Rebekah Dyer; a great-granddaughter, Avery Dykstra; 2 brothers, John (Georgie) Dyer of Berksville, Kentucky and Samuel Dyer of Albany, Kentucky. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 sisters and a brother.
