Anna Bess Fenner

Anna Bess Fenner, age 85, of Smithville, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday morning, December 15th, 2012 at her residence where she was in the presence of her family following a period of declining health. Services will be Friday, 11:00 a.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster with Pastor Allan Kahler officiating followed by interment at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday at the funeral home from 6 - 8 p.m and one hour (10:00 - 11:00 a.m.) prior to services on Friday. She was born on November 26, 1927 in Mountain City, TN. to Daniel and Susan (Simpson) Smith and moved to Smithville in 1953. She married Everett Earl Fenner in Mountain City, TN. on July 26, 1947. He went home to be with the Lord, on June 30, 1996 in Smithville. She had previously worked for Cedar Lane Farms in Wooster for 20 years before retiring in 1988. She was a member of the former First Church of God in Smithville and a current member of the Paradise Church of The Brethren in Smithville where she was also involved in ladies meetings and numerous church related activities; In her earlier years, she enjoyed spending time with family through camping, bowling and mostly her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She is survived by a son, Gary (Dora) Fenner of Apple Creek; 2 daughters, Norma (Calvin) Boggs of Smithville and Katherine "Kathy" (Tim) Taylor of Dalton; 9 grandchildren, Kelly (Brian) Chambers, Lisa (Dave) Flickinger, Scott (Dollie) Boggs, Susan (Tim) Brookover, Steven (Melissa) Boggs, Matthew Boggs, Neil McCollam, Christina and Rachael Yoder; 20 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Cody, Mariah, Jocelyn, Chantelle, Cole, Skylar, Mackenzie, Ashlyn, Ethan, Kaitlyn, William, Logan, Alisha, Andre',Avery, A'shanue, Zaria, Dominik and Adaleine. 2 great-great- grandchildren, Brayden and Treymaine.; a brother, Paul (Sandy) Smith of Creston; a sister, Ruth (Thomas) Payne of Mountain City, TN.; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and loving husband, she is preceded in death by 4 brothers, Luther, Robert, Fred and Sanford Smith; a sister, Hazel Cress and a son-in-law, Kenny Boggs.
