Barbara "Granny" Teague

Barbara "Granny" Teague, of Wooster passed away, Friday evening, October 8th, 2010 at Akron City Hospital in Akron following a lengthy illness. Services will be Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at Shreve United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Lawson officiating followed by interment at Oak Grove Cemetery in Shreve. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 - 9 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at: www.custerglenn.com. She was born in Wooster on December 24, 1933 to Charles L. Sr. and Helen (Shriver) Barnes and has been an area resident for all of her life. She graduated from Shreve High School in 1951; worked at Dairy Pak in Cleveland,then for Rubbermaid and Nickles Bakery and retired as head cook at Wooster Twp. School after 23 years where she was addressed as "Granny" by all of her students. She married Herman Teague, Sr. on May 25, 1962 at Shreve United Methodist Church. He passed away on February 17, 2005 in Wooster. She is survived by her son, Joel (Rocky) Teague of Wooster, a daughter, Cindy Catherman of Apple Creek and a son, Brad Teague also of Wooster; Grandchildren, Stephanie Catherman, Jacob Seaton, David Smith, Tiffany Catherman, Heidi Catherman, Eric Teague, Logan Teague; Great-grandchildren, Nevaeh and Renee Seaton, Austin and Jacob Seaton, Audrina, Nicole, Anabellla and Hayden Smith; sister, Beverly Cain; brother, Charles L. Jr. (Janet) Barnes, sister, Betty Leathers and Bob Brady; Special cousins, Janet Roby, Marilyn Acker, Renee Schonauer, Millie Shriver, Carol Six, Rose BrittonDean Jacot and her niece and nephew, Beth and Donnie Beckler. She served 3 years as Secretary of Triway Sports Booster Club and 5 years as Banquet Manager for the Triway Music Boosters Club; a member of T.R.I.B.E. Boosters Club in Winter Haven, Florida where her and Herman spent every year during the Cleveland Indians spring training and was an all-around sports enthusiast. She was a member of Shreve United Methodist Church; enjoyed knitting, puzzles and most of all spending time with all of her close family.
