Donald G. Sperr

Donald G. Sperr, age 83 of Sterling, met his Lord and Savior face to face on August 28th, 2013 at Wooster Community Hospital after a long illness. He was born November 13, 1929 in Detroit Michigan, to George and Ada (Witt) Sperr. Don graduated from Wittenberg College in Springfield, Ohio. He also attended two years of seminary school. He was a loving family man all his life. He was a member of Canaan Lutheran Church in Creston, Ohio and was very involved in his church. He married Dawn L. Beard August 12, 1973 and spent 40 blessed years with her. He left his family with so many wonderful memories. He had a unique sense of humor that brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Dawn. He also leaves behind his 5 children, Tom (Libby) Sperr of Denver Colorado, George Sperr of Sterling, Ohio. James Provence of Creston, Ohio, Pamela Collins-Cookro (Roland) of Wooster, Ohio, and Michael Provence (Anne Dellafave) of Wooster, Ohio. He is also survived by his Sister, Louise Sperr, of Long Beach, California. He will be sadly missed by his 10 grandchildren, Ben, Ki Ki, Lily, Olivia, Nick, Nate, Ashley, Michael, Ambrea and Andrew. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and In-Laws. Don chose to be cremated so a memorial service will be held September 28, 2013 at Canaan Lutheran Church, 10851 Friendsville Road, Creston, Ohio at 11:00 a.m. The service will be officiated by Pastor Paul Thoms. Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster is serving the family. He was also preceded in death by his Son-In-Law Mark Collins, Father and Mother- In -Law, Richard and Ruth (Surrarrer) Beard and his Brother-In-Law, Donald Beard. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Hospice of Wayne County for the comfort they gave to Don in his last days. We are so grateful that he didn't suffer and left this earth so peacefully. Thank you to the loving nurses and doctors at Wooster Community Hospital.
