Faye V. Hoffman

Faye V. Hoffman, age 82 of Smithville, passed away, Monday, September 23, 2013 from a short illness at her home. She was surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be Sunday, 3:00 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home with Pastor O.J. Thompson officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. (2 hours prior to services). Interment will take place at Smithville Cemetery. Faye was born on September 13, 1931 in Holmes County to Carl B.and Leona (Gilt) Weaver and moved to Smithville from Millersburg in 1949. She married Wilbur D. Hoffman on June 4, 1949. He passed away on May 30, 2002. She was owner/operator of Hoffman Poodle Parlor for many years; she was very active in Cub-Scouts when her sons were young. She was an avid gardener; enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, sewing and flower arranging, antiques and family history. She and her husband, traveled extensively and especially enjoyed taking the grandchildren to Florida and Disney World. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She was very devoted and enjoying attending the many activities of her grandchildren that included sports, dance and many school functions. She is very much loved and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sons, Michael D. (Kate) Hoffman of Nashville, Ohio and Douglas P. (Tonie) Hoffman of Orrville; Grandchildren, Nicholas (Audrey), Benjamin (Ashley Stahl), Cory (Kelsey), Jackie (Dylan Morales), Andrew (Brittani Doty) Hoffman, Stefanie (Todd) Thompson; Great-Grandchildren, Bryce, Will, Jayda Thompson, Skyler Hoffman, Alex Lexsan-Hoffman, Lillian Vance and Malia Morales; Sisters, Helen Zickefoose, Freada (Russell) Zickefoose, Gerri (Bill) Harner; brother-in-law, Ivan Mosier. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother in law and sister-in-law, John and Helen Smith, brother-in-law, Clifton Zickefoose and sister-in-law, Vivian Mosier
