LINDA M. MOWRER

Linda M. Mowrer, age 60, of Wooster entered into rest, Friday October 4, 2013 at Wooster Community Hospital following a period of declining health. Services will be Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at East Chippewa Church Of The Brethren in Orrville with Pastor Brad Kelley officiating followed by interment at East Chippewa of the Brethren Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6 - 8 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster. Memorial contributions may be made to: Hospice Life Care, 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster Ohio 44691. She was born on February 21, 1953 in Orrville, Ohio to Harry L.and Jean (Kurtz) Horst and has been a Wayne County resident for all of her life. Linda began teaching at Wooster Beauty College and then worked for Barb Taylors Beauty Shop in Smithville. She then worked for Hardee's Restaurant and was know to be the best little biscuit maker; then worked as a beautician for West View Manor Nursing Center (West View Healthy Living) and a cook for the Wooster Justice Center. She was a very active member with East Chippewa Church of The Brethren in Orrville for many years which included singing in the choir and leading the childrens church choir; she also loved to read and movies; Enjoyed singing and karaoke which also included singing with The Horst Family Singers, a gospel group that included her brother and sisters. They sang for many groups which included the Justice Center and Jail in Wooster; the former Apple Creek Developmental Center and West View Manor to name a few. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She is survived by a son, Jay Mowrer (Melanie Hartman) of Wooster; daughter, Gwen Mowrer (Raul Sarzosa) of Shreve; grandchildren, Aubrey, Christian, Madeline, Jeret and Clay Mowrer; sisters, Barb (Bill) Teach and Sue Williams all of Wooster and Joella (John) Swinehart of Orrville; a brother, Rick (Karen) Horst of Smithville; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 2 brother-in-laws.
