Mary Ruth Covert

Mary Ruth Covert, age 87, of Wooster, peacefully entered into rest, Wednesday morning, October 7th, 2009 at Smithville- Western Care Center in Wooster following a long illness. It was her wishes that a private family interment take place at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be Saturday, October 24th, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church, 201 N. Mill St., Fredericksburg, Ohio. She was born in Lewisburg, TN. on August 26, 1922 to Thomas T. and Lorene (Bowers) Watson. She was baptized on September, 1922 and had moved from Florida to Wooster in 1931. She married Garold F. Covert on August 2, 1942 in Lebanon, PA. He entered into rest on August 5th, 1990. In addition to her being a devoted homemaker, she worked for the Fredricksburg Pottery Co., the Wooster Rubber Co and the Akron Brass Co. She then worked for the Value Center in Wooster for 4 years and then most recently retired in 1980 from Regal Ware in Wooster after 15 years of service. She was a member of the Garden Party Garden Club of Wooster; the Ladies Auxiliary 447th of Wooster ; the Shreve Ladies Auxiliary Armory and enjoyed bowling. She is survived by 3 sons, Gary "Mike" (Lois) Covert and Tim J. Covert all of Shreve, and David S. (Julie) Covert of Massillon, Ohio; a daughter, Suseke (Don) Plasterer of Wooster; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack (Norma) Watson of Franklin, N.C. and a sister, Mamie Bell "Pat" Carr of Perrysville, Ohio. In addition to her parents and loving husband, she is preceded in death by 2 brothers, William T. and James Watson; a sister, Glenna "Babe" Cramer and step-father, Warren Short.
