Violet M. Boso

Violet M. Boso, age 87, of Wooster and formerly of Smithville, died peacefully Saturday afternoon, December 3rd, 2011 at West View Manor Nursing Center where she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Services will be Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at West View Manor Chapel, 1715 Mechanicsburg Rd., Wooster with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating. A private interment will will take place later at the convenience of the family at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Wooster. Visitation will be this evening (Monday) from 6 - 8 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr,.Wooster. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to either: Hospice and Palliative Care of Wayne And Holmes County, 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691 or West View Manor in Wooster.She was born on April 24, 1924 in Buckhannon, W. Va. to Roy M. and Lona (Pritt) Morrison and has been a Wayne County resident for most of her life. She married Charles J. "Chuck" Boso on December 20, 1950 in Smithville. He died on October 27, 1996 in Wooster. She previously served as receptionist for both Custer Funeral Home in Wooster and with Smithville-Western Care Center in Wooster before retiring after many years of service. She was a member of the Wooster Community Hospital Auxilliary and was instrumental in starting the volunteer Candy Striper program at Smithville-Western Care Center. She was an avid gardener and loved birds. She most of all enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She is survived by a son, Kevin Boso of Lakeville, Ohio; a daughter, Charlene Carafelli of Wooster; 4 grandchildren, Megan Compton, Matt Murphy, Marisa and Micayla Carafelli along with 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, Roy Morrisson, Jr. and 2 sisters, Maxine Jeffers and Vera Gamertsfelder; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Joel Robert Morrison and a sister, Vonda Smith. The family wishes to thank the staff of both Hospice and Palliative Care as well as West View Manor for their warm care and concern. A special gratitude going to Eva and Mariah along with the 400 hall staff at West View Manor. A special thank you also extended to Dr. David Reynolds, Dr. Tom Richard and Dr. Michael Schuler.
