Roland R. Miller

Roland D. Miller, age 65, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday September 13th, 2008 at his residence surrounded by his family and friends following a short illness. "For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that I love his appearing", 2 Timothy 6-8. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Church Of Light Foursquare Gospel Church in Wooster with Pastor John Copus and Rabbi William Hallbrook officiating followed by interment at Wooster Cemetery. Military Rites will then follow. Visitation will be this evening (Monday) from 6-9 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster and 2 hours (1-3 p.m.) on Tuesday at the church prior to services. He was born in Wadsworth, Ohio on April 13, 1943 to Joseph R. and Mary L. (Moran) Miller and has been a Wayne County resident for most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict from 1964-1966 and married Carol J. (Stocker) on December 18, 1966 in Wooster. She survives. He previously worked for the Rubbermaid Co. in Wooster retiring after 30 years; his main hobby was working with numerous Jeweler's in the area by helping to design jewelry pieces; worked most recently with the Miller Lumber Co. in Millersburg; was a member and held numerous positions with the Church of Light Foursquare Gospel Church in Wooster. In addition to his mother of Millersburg and beloved wife, he is survived by his children, Tina (Michael) Nason of Shreve, Tricia Miller and Timothy Miller both of Wooster; 2 grandaughters; siblings, Virginia "Ginny" Wiebe of Florida, Faye (Robert) Wriston of Mansfield, ohio, Mark (Deborah) Miller of Orrville and Fraun (Roger) Holcomb of Virgina. He is preceded in death by his father.
